About RTF to HTML conversion

RTF is a cross-platform rich text interchange format introduced by Microsoft in 1987, which marks typography information with control words. HTML is a web structure standard defined by WHATWG that can be rendered directly by browsers. This conversion converts RTF documents into a format embeddable in web pages.

During conversion, RTF control words are parsed to extract typography information such as paragraphs and bolding, along with full Unicode text content, which is then converted into corresponding HTML tags. The converted HTML file is smaller than the original RTF document, and the original typography information is fully retained with no additional content loss.

This conversion is suitable for embedding RTF documents output by early OCR software or exported from rich text emails into web page or Markdown workflows. The output HTML can be opened and rendered directly in all mainstream browsers, no additional rich text editor is required.

FAQ about RTF → HTML

Does quality change after conversion?

Original text and typography information can both be fully retained. We use a self-developed parser to extract RTF control word information, convert it into corresponding HTML tags, and the output can be rendered normally by browsers directly.

Can the original format be preserved?

Basic rich text formats such as paragraph breaks and bold font can be preserved. All Unicode characters can be transcoded and output normally, and the original text content is fully retained with no additional loss.

What is the single file size limit?

The maximum single file size for conversion on this site is 50MB, and only one file can be converted at a time. Files exceeding the size limit will be rejected for processing by the system.

Will converted files be retained?

Files are uploaded to the server via HTTPS for conversion. After conversion is completed, the server immediately deletes both the source file and the output file, and does not perform any storage.
