About SRT to ASS conversion

SRT is a plain-text timestamp caption format that does not support any styling. ASS is an advanced caption format that supports full styling and effects. Users need to add styles to general captions for effect production or standard release, creating demand for this conversion.

The converted ASS output has a larger file size than the original SRT. The conversion fully preserves the original timestamp accuracy. Since the original SRT does not contain style, position or effect information, the output ASS adds basic default styles and does not generate additional effect content.

The conversion result can be used for caption editing in video editing software such as PR and Final Cut Pro, and is also compatible with all types of desktop players and smart TVs that support ASS format. It can be used directly in the standard release workflow of subtitle groups.

FAQ about SRT → ASS

Will video quality change after conversion?

The conversion only processes caption data and does not modify video content. The original video quality does not change, only the storage format of the caption is altered.

Will the original timestamps be preserved?

The original timestamp information from SRT is fully preserved, and accuracy does not change. The display timing of captions after conversion is exactly the same as in the original file.

What is the maximum single file size limit?

This tool only supports converting one file per operation. The upper limit for a single file is 50MB, and files exceeding the limit cannot be uploaded and converted.

Will my files be stored?

Files are uploaded to the server via HTTPS for conversion. After conversion is completed, the server immediately deletes both the source file and the output file, and does not store any files.
