About SRT to VTT conversion
SRT is a plain-text subtitle format developed by SubRip. It uses commas to separate the millisecond part of timecodes, and does not support styles or positioning. VTT is a W3C standard released in 2010, and is the native web subtitle format supported by HTML5. It uses dots to separate the millisecond part of timecodes, and supports styles and positioning. This conversion meets the requirement of embedding subtitles in web players.
This conversion is completed based on a self-developed parser. There is no significant difference in file size between the converted file and the original file, and the timecode precision of the original file is fully retained. SRT does not store style, position or effect information, so corresponding content cannot be generated after conversion, and the conversion result conforms to VTT format standards.
The converted VTT file can be used directly in HTML5 web players, desktop browsers including Chrome and Edge, and is also compatible with video editing software that supports the WebVTT format. It is suitable for the workflow of embedding subtitles in web video projects, and only processes one file at a time.

FAQ about SRT → VTT
Does subtitle quality change after conversion?
The content of the original SRT subtitles will not change. The conversion outputs a VTT format file that meets standard specifications, and does not modify the original subtitle text or timeline information.
Will timecode precision be preserved?
The timecode precision of the original SRT is fully retained. The conversion only modifies the timecode separator, replacing the comma with the dot required by VTT, and does not change the time values.
What is the maximum file size limit?
The maximum single file size is 50MB, and only one file can be converted at a time. Files exceeding this limit cannot be uploaded and converted. The service is free of charge, output has no watermark, and no account registration is required.
Will my files be stored?
Files are uploaded to the server via HTTPS for conversion. After conversion is completed, the server immediately deletes both the source file and the output file, and does not store any files.
