About WebP to JPG conversion
WebP is an image format based on VP8 intra coding released by Google in 2010, supporting lossy compression, lossless compression, alpha channels and animation. JPG is a lossy format based on DCT discrete cosine transform released by the JPEG organization in 1992, which does not support transparency or animation. This conversion is created to meet compatibility requirements.
After conversion, the transparent area of the original image will be converted to a white background. Only the first frame of an animated WebP will be extracted and output. The EXIF metadata of the original image can be retained in the output. At the same visual quality, the output JPG file size is larger than the original WebP. You can adjust compression parameters to control the balance between output file size and image quality.
The conversion result is suitable for display in Safari 13 and older browsers, opening and editing in older versions of image processing software, and reading in local albums of older mobile devices. It meets the requirements of universal compatibility across all devices and software for image sharing and publishing.

FAQ about WebP → JPG
Will image quality decrease after conversion
There is a certain amount of quality loss after conversion. WebP is based on VP8 intra coding, while JPG is based on DCT compression. Their coding mechanisms differ, and adjusting compression parameters can control the degree of loss.
Is the alpha channel preserved
The alpha channel cannot be preserved. The JPG format itself does not support alpha channels. After conversion, the transparent areas of the original WebP will be filled with a white background by default for output.
What is the maximum single file size limit
The maximum single file size is 50MB. Only one file can be converted at a time. This service is free of charge, output files have no watermarks, and no account registration is required to use it.
Will my files be leaked during conversion
Files will not be leaked. Conversion is completed on the server side, and files are uploaded via HTTPS. After conversion is complete, the server immediately deletes both the source file and the output file, and does not store any files.
