About JSON to CSV conversion

JSON is a text-based interchange format of key-value pairs and arrays compliant with RFC 8259. It only supports six basic data types and does not include native tabular structure definitions. CSV is a plain-text tabular format compliant with RFC 4180, and is a common format for mutual data exchange between databases and spreadsheets. This conversion meets the requirement of importing non-tabular JSON data into spreadsheets.

This conversion uses SheetJS for structure parsing. Flat JSON object arrays will map object keys to CSV column names, and nested structures will be converted to key-path format names. JSON does not support native comments, so no comments can be retained. All data is stored in CSV string format, and original data type information is not preserved.

The conversion output can be directly imported into Microsoft Excel 2007 and later versions, and WPS Spreadsheets 2019 and later versions. It can be used to export JSON returned by frontend APIs into editable spreadsheets for conventional data analysis workflows. Single JSON file size may not exceed 50MB.

FAQ about JSON → CSV

Will table data change after conversion?

The content corresponding to each key-value pair will not change. Numeric and boolean types from the original data are converted to CSV strings for storage, and the original content itself is not modified. The conversion uses SheetJS for parsing and mapping, and the output conforms to RFC 4180 format specifications.

Can nested structures be preserved?

Hierarchy information of nested structures will be preserved. During conversion, nested paths are concatenated into CSV column names, and all original data content is retained completely. Only the storage structure is changed, and content corresponding to nested hierarchies will not be discarded.

What is the file size limit?

The single file size limit for conversion on this site is 50MB, and only one file can be processed per conversion. Files larger than 50MB will be rejected by the system. Please split the file and submit the conversion again.

Will source files be saved?

Files are uploaded to the server via HTTPS for conversion. Immediately after conversion completes, the server deletes both the source file and the output file. No files are stored, and user data is not retained.
