About PDF Split

PDF page splitting meets multiple practical requirements, including extracting contract signature pages for return, splitting multi-page scanned documents by chapter for distribution, and extracting appendices from large reports for separate export. It supports custom selection of pages to retain via "1-5" or "1,3,5-7" format.

This tool splits PDF via a page-level copying mechanism, does not re-render original page content, and retains text layers and vector graphics as-is. It automatically removes duplicate page numbers in the selection range, truncates page numbers that exceed the document's total page count, and returns an error if the selection range is empty.

When using this tool, write the target page selection range according to the rules. You can use hyphens for continuous ranges and commas to separate non-consecutive pages. The split new PDF retains the original properties of pages from the source file. If you need to convert all pages to images, use the PDF to image tool instead.

FAQ about PDF Split

How do I write a page selection range?

You can use hyphens to mark continuous page ranges, and commas to separate multiple non-consecutive page ranges or individual pages. For example, the entry "1,3,5-7" selects page 1, page 3, and pages 5 to 7.

Do split pages correspond to the original file's page numbering?

The page order of the new split PDF matches the order of the selection range you entered. Page content matches the same page number from the original PDF, and remains unchanged from the original.

What is the maximum single file size limit?

This tool processes only one file per request, with a maximum single file size of 50MB. Files exceeding this size will be rejected. You can split the file before uploading.

Are uploaded files private and secure?

Files are uploaded to the server via HTTPS for conversion. After conversion completes, the server immediately deletes both source files and output files, does not store any files, and protects file privacy.
