About GIF to PNG conversion
GIF was released by CompuServe in 1987, uses LZW lossless compression, is limited to a 256-color palette, supports multi-frame animation and 1-bit transparency. PNG was released in 1996, uses DEFLATE lossless compression, supports 48-bit color depth and 8-bit alpha channel. This conversion is used to break through the color depth limit of GIF.
Original image transparency information is retained after conversion. Only the first frame of a multi-frame GIF is converted and output as a PNG. Original EXIF metadata is preserved. PNG uses DEFLATE lossless compression, so the converted file size is larger than the original GIF file. The original image pixel content is not altered.
The converted PNG can be used for design delivery and web screenshot storage. It is compatible with all mainstream image viewing software on Windows 7 and above, and macOS 10.5 and above, and meets the standard format requirements of the printing and design industry.

FAQ about GIF → PNG
Will image quality be lost after conversion?
Conversion does not cause image quality loss. This conversion uses a lossless conversion logic, processed based on the Sharp engine. The output PNG retains all pixel information of the original image.
Will the transparency of the original GIF be retained?
Transparency information is retained after conversion. The 1-bit transparency information of the original GIF can be fully converted to the alpha channel of PNG, and the output image retains a transparent background.
What is the maximum single file size limit?
The single file conversion limit on this site is 50MB. Only one file can be converted at a time. The service is free of charge, output files have no watermark, and no account registration is required.
Will my files be stored?
Files are not stored by this site. Files are uploaded to the server via HTTPS for conversion. Immediately after conversion is completed, the server deletes both the source file and the output file.
