About WAV to FLAC conversion

WAV is an uncompressed linear PCM format encapsulated in the RIFF container. FLAC is a free and open-source lossless compressed audio codec. This conversion is commonly used for music archiving, balancing storage efficiency and audio integrity.

The converted file size is reduced by 40% to 60%. The sample rate and number of channels of the original file are fully preserved. All embedded metadata tags from the source WAV are retained. The output is a lossless file that can restore the original PCM data bit-for-bit.

The output is suitable for local music library archiving and playback on Hi-Fi players. Some older car audio systems may not support the FLAC format, so keep the original WAV file for compatibility with legacy devices.
