About MP3 to FLAC conversion
MP3 is a lossy perceptual coding standardized in 1993, with a bitrate range of 32-320kbps and compatibility with all playback devices. FLAC is a free lossless codec that can restore original PCM data bit-for-bit, and is the standard format for music archiving. Users typically perform this conversion to adapt to lossless player archiving workflows.
The converted file size is 3 to 5 times larger than the original MP3. The sample rate and number of channels of the original file are preserved. As a lossless codec, FLAC does not have bitrate adjustment tiers. The original ID3 metadata tags from the MP3 are fully preserved and converted to FLAC's Vorbis Comment format.
This conversion is suitable for storage on lossless music players and organizing local music libraries. It cannot restore original audio information lost during MP3 encoding. The output can be played normally on common media players for Windows, macOS and Linux systems.

FAQ about MP3 → FLAC
Will audio quality improve after conversion
Audio quality does not improve after conversion. Original audio information is already lost during the MP3 encoding process. Converting to FLAC only changes the container format, and cannot restore already lost audio data.
Will original metadata be preserved
Original ID3 metadata from the MP3 is preserved. Information such as song title, artist, and album from the source file is fully retained, and converted to the Vorbis Comment format supported by FLAC.
What is the maximum single file size limit
The maximum single file size limit for this service is 50MB. Only one file can be converted per conversion request. Requests exceeding the limit cannot be submitted. The service is free of charge, and output files have no watermarks.
Will my files be stored
Files are not stored. Files are uploaded to the server via HTTPS for conversion. The server deletes both the source file and output file immediately after conversion completes, and no copies of any files are retained.
