About HEIC to JPG conversion
HEIC is a HEIF image format encoded with HEVC. It has been the default photo format for iPhone iOS 11+ since 2017, and its file size is about 50% of JPG at the same image quality. JPG is a lossy image format based on DCT discrete cosine transform released in 1992. Due to the lack of native HEIC support in older systems, the need for this conversion emerged.
The output JPG after conversion follows lossy compression rules, and retains EXIF metadata from the original image. JPG does not support transparency channels or animation natively, so corresponding information will be lost after conversion. Adjusting the quality parameter changes the file size and compression level of the output.
This conversion is suitable for workflows that require opening photos taken by iPhones on pre-Windows 10 versions, older Android, older macOS, or inserting images into general web editors. Converted files are compatible with almost all existing devices and software.

FAQ about HEIC → JPG
Will image quality be lost after conversion
Conversion will cause some change in image quality. HEIC uses HEVC encoding, while JPG is based on DCT compression, with different compression algorithms. You can adjust the output quality parameter during conversion to control the compression level.
Will transparency channels be preserved
Transparency channels will not be preserved. The JPG format specification does not support transparency channel storage natively, so transparency information from the original HEIC will be lost after conversion.
What is the single file size limit
The maximum single file upload size is 50MB, and only one file can be converted at a time. This service is free of charge, output files have no watermarks, and no account registration is required to use it.
Will my files be stored
Conversion is completed on the server side. Files are uploaded via HTTPS, and the server immediately deletes both the source file and output file after conversion completes. No files are stored, so your privacy is protected.
