About DOCX to TXT conversion

DOCX is a text document format defined by the Office Open XML standard. It uses ZIP to package XML for storing structured content, and is the default format for Word 2007 and later versions. TXT is an unmarked plain text format compatible with text editors on all devices. This conversion meets the need for extracting plain text content from DOCX files.

After conversion, only plain text content from the DOCX is retained. Semantic information such as paragraph styles and table structure defined in DOCX are all removed. Text content from layout objects including headers, footers and text boxes is retained, but all formatting information is cleared. The output file is smaller than the original DOCX.

The output file can be opened by all text editors on Windows, macOS and Linux systems. It is suitable for workflows including bulk document script extraction, material organization and indexing, and generating universal editable plain text. No original document layout formatting information is retained.

FAQ about DOCX → TXT

What quality changes occur after conversion?

All original document formatting information is lost, only readable plain text content is retained. All extractable text in the DOCX is preserved with no content missing, and the output file is smaller than the original DOCX.

Will header and footer content be retained?

Text content inside headers and footers is retained, but the formatting and position information of headers and footers is lost. Only all extracted text content is output, no layout attributes are preserved.

What is the single file size limit?

The maximum single file size supported for this conversion is 50MB, and only one file can be converted at a time. Processing cannot be submitted if the size exceeds the limit; please split the file before processing.

Will my files be stored?

Files are uploaded to the server via HTTPS for conversion. After conversion completes, the server immediately deletes both the source file and output file, and does not store any files to protect privacy and security.
