About EPUB to TXT conversion

EPUB is an e-book standard developed by IDPF, which packages XHTML, CSS and OPF manifests in ZIP, with reading order defined by the spine. TXT is an unmarked plain text format compatible with all text processing devices. This conversion is used to extract pure dialogue or text content for compatibility with low-performance devices.

The conversion preserves the reading order defined by the EPUB spine, removes all embedded styles, images, directory structures and metadata, extracts only plain text content for output, and the converted file size is smaller than the original EPUB file size.

This conversion is suitable for extracting plain text content from e-books for old feature phones and minimal text editors, and can also be used for batch organization of e-book dialogue materials. It does not preserve the original e-book's layout and rich media content.

FAQ about EPUB → TXT

Is any text content lost after conversion

Core text content is not lost, all readable body text is preserved. Non-text content such as embedded styles, images, and directories in the original file are all removed.

Does it preserve the original reading order

The original reading order is preserved. This tool extracts text in the order defined by the spine in the EPUB specification, so the output TXT content matches the reading order of the original e-book.

What is the maximum single file size limit

The single file size limit for this site is 50MB, and only one file can be converted at a time. Files larger than 50MB will be rejected for processing.

Will my files be stored

Files are not stored. Files are uploaded to the server via HTTPS for conversion. After conversion completes, the server immediately deletes both the source file and the output file, and retains no data at all.
