About PDF to TIFF conversion

PDF was released by Adobe in 1993, and became an open ISO 32000 standard in 2008. It is the layout preservation standard in the field of document exchange. TIFF was launched by Aldus in 1986, supports multi-page storage and lossless compression, and is a standard format in the printing and scanning industry. This conversion meets the format adaptation requirements of the printing and publishing industry.

The conversion uses lossless LZW compression for output, retains the color depth and EXIF metadata of the original image. Embedded JPG and PNG images in the original PDF will not trigger additional recompression. A single-page PDF corresponds to a single-page TIFF, and a multi-page PDF can be converted into a multi-page TIFF file, whose size is similar to the total capacity of the embedded images in the original file.

The converted TIFF file is compatible with Adobe Photoshop 2020 and later versions, as well as mainstream pre-press typesetting software, and meets the output specifications of the printing industry. This conversion is not suitable for web scenarios that require browsers to directly display images, and only supports converting one file at a time.

FAQ about PDF → TIFF

Does image quality change after conversion

Embedded JPG and PNG images in the original PDF will not trigger additional recompression, and the output TIFF uses a lossless compression scheme, so the color and detail of the original image will not be lost.

Do you support retaining alpha channels

The alpha channel information of the embedded images in the original PDF can be fully retained. The transparency attribute will be fully written into the output TIFF file, and will not be modified or deleted.

What is the file size limit

This service only supports converting one file at a time. The maximum size of a single file is 50MB, and files exceeding the size limit cannot be converted.

Are my files stored

Files are uploaded to the server via HTTPS for conversion. After conversion is completed, the server immediately deletes both the source file and the output file, and does not store any files.
