About SVG to PNG conversion

SVG is an XML-based vector format released by W3C in 2001, supporting infinite scaling and animation, and is widely used for vector display on web pages. PNG is a bitmap format released in 1996 that uses DEFLATE lossless compression. It is a general standard for design delivery and screenshots. Most local image editing software cannot edit SVG directly, which creates demand for this conversion.

SVG to PNG conversion requires specifying the output resolution. After conversion, the vector scaling property of SVG is lost, but the alpha channel of the original SVG is retained, 48-bit color depth can be fully preserved. Only the current frame of the original SMIL animation is exported, EXIF metadata is retained after conversion, and the file size is increased compared to the original SVG.

The output of this conversion is suitable for editing in Photoshop CS6 and later versions. It can be used for design delivery, social media image sharing, and local device photo album storage. Please confirm the output resolution required by your target scenario in advance, adjust the corresponding parameters before generation.

FAQ about SVG → PNG

Will image quality be lost after conversion

PNG uses DEFLATE lossless compression. No visible quality loss occurs when converting at the specified resolution. No watermarks are added to output files, and the service is free of charge.

Is the alpha channel retained

All transparency information from the original SVG is fully retained. PNG itself supports 8-bit alpha channels, and the converted output PNG maintains the transparent background effect.

What is the single file size limit

Our conversion service requires a single file size not exceeding 50MB, and only one file can be converted at a time. Compress the file and re-upload if it exceeds the size limit.

Are uploaded files stored

Files are uploaded to the server via HTTPS for conversion. After conversion is complete, the server immediately deletes both the source file and the output file, and does not store any files.
