About TIFF to PNG conversion

TIFF was released by Aldus in 1986. It is a standard format for the printing and scanning industry, supports multi-page documents and multiple lossless compression methods, and cannot be displayed directly by browsers. PNG was released in 1996, uses DEFLATE lossless compression, is a common format for screenshots and design deliverables, and can be parsed directly by browsers.

This conversion is processed based on the Sharp engine. It preserves lossless compression quality of the original image, completely retains 8-bit transparency channels and 48-bit color depth. Single-page TIFF can be converted completely, while multi-page TIFF only converts the content of the first page. EXIF metadata is fully retained.

This conversion is suitable for converting scanned documents and printing originals into web materials that can be displayed directly by browsers, or delivering design drafts to downstream design workflows that use the PNG standard. Batch conversion of multi-page TIFF files is not supported.

FAQ about TIFF → PNG

Will image quality be lost after conversion?

Conversion does not cause quality loss. Both TIFF and PNG are lossless compression formats, and the conversion is processed based on the Sharp engine, which retains all pixel information of the original image.

Will the transparency channel be preserved?

When the original TIFF includes a transparency channel, the converted PNG will retain the channel completely. PNG natively supports 8-bit transparency channels, and the output can be used normally.

What is the single file size limit?

The maximum single file size supported by this tool is 50MB. Only one file can be converted at a time. The service is free of charge, and the output has no watermark.

Will my files be stored?

Files are uploaded to the server via HTTPS for conversion. After conversion is completed, the server immediately deletes both the source file and the output file, and does not store any files.
