About HEIC to PDF conversion

HEIC is an image format based on HEVC encoding standardized in 2015, and has been the default photo format for iPhones running iOS 11 and later since 2017. PDF is a document page layout format released in 1993 and became an open standard in 2008. Differences in native system support for the two formats create a need for conversion.

When embedding images converted from HEIC, PDF does not apply secondary compression to the original data. After converting a single HEIC image, the output PDF retains the original EXIF metadata, the file size change has no significant deviation from the original HEIC file, and all static image information is preserved completely.

This conversion is suitable for scenarios where you need to archive individual iPhone photos into PDF documents and unify formats in general document workflows. The converted file can be opened and viewed directly on systems that do not natively support HEIC, such as Windows 7 and above, and Android 10 and below.

FAQ about HEIC → PDF

Will image quality be lost after conversion

No additional image quality loss occurs after conversion. When embedding the image, PDF does not apply secondary compression to the original image data, and retains the original image quality of the HEIC file.

Can EXIF metadata be preserved

The EXIF metadata from the original HEIC is retained after conversion. Metadata is embedded into the output PDF along with the image, and is not actively removed during the conversion process.

What is the single file size limit

This service has a maximum single file size limit of 50MB, only one file can be converted per conversion. The service is free of charge, outputs no watermarks, and does not require account registration.

Will my files be stored

Conversion is completed server-side, files are uploaded via HTTPS. The server immediately deletes both the source file and output file after conversion completes, and does not store any files.
