About M4A to MP3 conversion
M4A is an audio container defined in MPEG-4 Part 14, commonly wrapping AAC or ALAC encoding, and it is the default audio format for iTunes and Apple devices. MP3 is a lossy perceptual coding standardized in 1993 as MPEG-1/2 Layer III, with all patents expired in 2017, and it is universally compatible with all playback devices.
This conversion supports adjusting output MP3 bitrate between 32kbps and 320kbps. Sample rate and channel count remain consistent with the input source, and input ID3 metadata tags are preserved in the converted output. A higher bitrate results in a larger output file size and better auditory quality.
Converted MP3 files can play normally on devices and software with poor M4A compatibility, such as car players, older portable music players, and Windows Media Player. It is suitable for audio workflows requiring cross-platform universal distribution.

FAQ about M4A → MP3
Will conversion reduce audio quality
If the input M4A uses AAC encoding, it delivers slightly better sound quality than MP3 at the same bitrate. Conversion will produce some audio quality loss, and increasing the output bitrate can reduce the magnitude of loss.
Does conversion preserve song information
Metadata including track title, artist, and album from the input M4A is preserved during conversion, and automatically written to the ID3 tags of the output MP3, so no re-editing is required.
What is the single file size limit
This service only supports converting one file at a time, with a maximum single file size limit of 50MB. Files exceeding the size limit will be rejected by the system.
Are converted files stored by the service
Files are uploaded to the server via HTTPS for conversion. After conversion completes, the server immediately deletes both the source file and the output file, and does not store any files.
