About SBV to SRT conversion

SBV is the native subtitle format of YouTube Studio, with timecodes in H:MM:SS.mmm format, and does not support styling or positioning. SRT is a plain text subtitle format developed by SubRip, and is the subtitle format with the widest compatibility among players and editing software. Most general tools do not support directly reading SBV.

This conversion rewrites the timecode format of SBV according to SRT specifications, while retaining the original subtitle text content. Since the original SBV does not contain style, positioning, or effect information, the output SRT after conversion will not include these content either, and the change in file size is negligible.

The converted SRT subtitle can be imported into common editing software such as剪映, Premiere Pro to add to videos, and can also be loaded and used in desktop players such as PotPlayer, VLC. It adapts to most subtitle usage scenarios on systems including Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile.

FAQ about SBV → SRT

Does quality change after conversion

There is no content loss to the subtitle text after conversion, and timecode precision is fully retained. Since SBV itself does not contain style, positioning, or effect information, the output SRT retains this corresponding state, and is compatible with all general tools.

Is timecode precision preserved

The original timecode precision is fully retained. Conversion only adjusts the format of SBV timecodes to the standard SRT format, does not modify the original start and end time values, and will not change the appearance and disappearance timing of subtitles.

What is the size limit for a single file

Only one file can be converted at a time, with a maximum single file size of 50MB. Files exceeding this size cannot be converted. Please split the file before submitting for conversion.

Do you store my files

We do not store any files. Conversion is completed server-side, files are uploaded to the server via HTTPS, and the server immediately deletes both the source file and output file after conversion completes, no storage is performed.
