About MP4 to AAC conversion

MP4 is the MPEG-4 Part 14 multimedia container, which can encapsulate video and audio tracks with AAC audio. AAC is an advanced audio coding standard from the MPEG family, and is the successor to the MP3 standard. Extracting audio from MP4 and saving it as a standalone AAC raw stream meets the requirements of streaming media editing workflows.

This conversion outputs an ADTS encapsulated AAC raw stream. The bitrate can be adjusted between 64kbps and 320kbps. It retains the original audio sample rate and channel count, preserves all original ID3 metadata, and the output file size is much smaller than the original MP4 file.

The output file is compatible with HLS streaming segment production and digital broadcast audio source import workflows, and can be read and processed normally by mainstream audio tools on Windows 10 and above, and macOS 10.15 and above.

FAQ about MP4 → AAC

Will audio quality decrease after conversion

If the output bitrate is not lower than the original audio bitrate, there is no noticeable quality loss. If you select a lower output bitrate, audio quality will decrease proportionally with the bitrate. The adjustable bitrate range is 64-320kbps.

Will original audio metadata be preserved

All ID3 metadata tags contained in the original MP4 are fully preserved in the output AAC file. The original audio sample rate and channel count also remain unchanged from the original file, with no automatic modifications.

What is the single file size limit

This service processes only one file per conversion. The maximum single file size is 50MB, and the maximum duration of the input MP4 video is 10 minutes. Files exceeding these limits cannot be submitted for processing.

Will my files be stored

Files are uploaded to the server via HTTPS for conversion. After conversion completes, the server immediately deletes both the source file and the output file, no files are stored, and user data is not retained.
