About Subtitle Trim
After cutting a specified clip from a full video, the timecodes of the original full subtitle do not align with the clipped clip. Users may also need to extract the text of a specific dialogue segment from a video, or split a full subtitle file of a long video by chapters. This tool meets these requirements.
This tool uses an interval clipping mechanism. It retains all subtitle entries that intersect with the set start time and end time interval, subtracts the start time value from all retained subtitle entries' timecodes as a whole to reset the timeline to zero, clips out-of-range portions of overlapping subtitles, and outputs the same subtitle format as the input.
Users can enter the start time and end time, supports input in seconds, or in minutes:seconds format. The end time can be left blank, which will clip content from the start time to the end of the original subtitle file. The reset timeline can be used directly with the clipped video clip.
FAQ about Subtitle Trim
How are timecodes reset to zero after clipping
The timecodes of all retained subtitles are all subtracted by the start time to complete the reset to zero. This processing allows the reset subtitle to be used directly with the clipped video clip.
What time input formats are supported
Two time input formats are supported: numeric values in seconds, and time values in minutes:seconds format. The end time can be left blank to indicate clipping to the end of the file.
What is the maximum single file size
The maximum single file upload size for this tool is 50MB, and only one file is processed at a time. This service is free of charge, output has no watermark, no account registration required.
Are user files stored
Files are uploaded to the server via HTTPS for conversion. After conversion completes, the server immediately deletes both the source file and the output file, no storage is performed, so user privacy is guaranteed.
